Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) announces that following the big interest of the Romanian entrepreneurs in Made in Romania project, a first edition of the Bucharest Entrepreneurship Forum will be organized on April 4th at The Ark.
The Forum will consist of series of workshops by market experts, split into three parallel sessions dedicated to start-ups, SMEs and large caps. During the day, a total of 21 workshops will be organized, focusing on several themes: growth financing, business development, strategy and innovation, branding and Google digital marketing sessions, just to mention a few. The event will be open with a morning panel session during which representatives of the private businesses will debate about the current state of entrepreneurship in Romania and it will be closed with a pitching session with awards for start-ups. The preliminary agenda as well as a list of confirmed speakers is available on the dedicated website: www.entrepreneurshipforum.ro.
“Given the success of the first stage of Made in Romania, through which we have received 166 applications from companies from all over the country and of all sizes, we continue our dialogue with Romanian entrepreneurs. We look forward to making Bucharest Entrepreneurship Forum yet another successful trademark of the Bucharest Stock Exchange”, stated Lucian Anghel, BVB President.
Made in Romania has now entered the second stage of the project namely shortlisting 50 companies from the 166 nominations received – a task currently undertaken by the members of the Nomination Committee who, together with BVB representatives, have time until March 3rd to select their top picks. On March 7th, the list of 50 companies that qualified into the project’s final stage will be officially announced by BVB.
“Made in Romania and Bucharest Entrepreneurship Forum are inherently connected to the strategy of BVB. We want to attract new companies to the capital market. We do not forget about the already listed companies which rarely - with some great exceptions - do not use the capital market which offers to them many possibilities. All in all, Made in Romania and the cyclical Entrepreneurship Forum complement the targeted approach of BVB towards the potential newcomers to the stock exchange. Together with established projects such as forum for individual investors, online based educational platforms and transactional tools dedicated to retail investors, form an ecosystem, unrivalled in South-Eastern Europe” said Ludwik Sobolewski, BVB CEO.
“It is only natural for such an ambitious project like Made in Romania – which by the way, we’ve fully supported - to be followed by a series of events and forums dedicated to familiarizing Romanian entrepreneurs with alternative financing of their businesses. We ourselves are a success story in this respect as we’ve realized our full potential with the help of the local stock exchange and now we are open and keen to see other local businesses achieving success and growth in a similar way,” stated Radu Hanga, Head of Group Management at Banca Transilvania.
The event is free of charge and current or future entrepreneurs are invited to book their spot at www.entrepreneurshipforum.ro. Forum’s main partners are Banca Transilvania Group, Google, Mazars as well as The Entrepreneurship Academy. The event is organized with support of Impact Hub, branding agency INOVEO, Romanian Business Leader Foundation, Start-up.ro and Start-up Café.
