Important event to report: Controlled shutdown of Cernavoda NPP Unit 1
SN Nuclearelectrica SA announces that Unit 1 of Cernavoda NPP will be controlled shutdown in the evening of 10.10.2024.
The controlled shutdown of Unit 1 of Cernavoda NPP is necessary in order to carry out maintenance works on some equipment to ensure optimal operation during the cold season. According to the applicable procedures of Cernavoda NPP and nuclear safety standards, maintenance works can be performed only with the reactor in shutdown state.
Controlled shutdown and maintenance works have no impact on nuclear safety, personnel and population.
SN Nuclearelectrica SA will issue a communique when Unit 1 is resynchronized to the National Power System.
